When I Grow Up, I Want To Be
Program 1 – When I Grow Up – Your donations will allow a youth to enroll in an online class at the Equine Studies Institute. This program allows one GHRA Youth Member to choose one class from any of the three Professional Certifications; Horse Trainer, Riding Instructor or Stable Management. The programs can be found at www.horsecoursesonline.com. The youth would submit a story on why they would like to work with horses when they grow up. The story will be posted on this website and voted on by the members. The winner will be entitled to one free class.
My Gypsy Horse Story
Program 2 – My Gypsy Story – This program awards one GHRA Youth Member a feature article about themselves and their horse in the Gypsy Horse World Magazine. Each year one youth member will be chosen to be featured in the Gypsy Horse World Magazine. The youth will submit a story about what the Gypsy Horse means to them. The story will be posted on this website and voted on by the members. The winner will have a two page story with pictures about themselves and their horse published in the Gypsy Horse World Magazine.
Gypsy Horse Artist in the Making
Program 3 – Gypsy Horse Artist in the Making – This program awards one GHRA Youth Member to have their artwork reproduced into a poster. The winning artwork will be featured in the Gypsy Horse World Magazine along with a 300 word story and picture of the artist. The first copy of the poster will be sent to the winner. The winning poster will be sold on the website with the proceeds going directly to the GHRA Youth Programs. The art will be posted on this website and voted on by the members.
Name That Horse
Program 4 – Name that Horse – This program awards one GHRA Youth Member a certificate and an spotlight in the Gypsy Horse World Magazine as the Official GHRA Gypsy Horse Name Innovator of the Year with the list of the names for members bid on. All names should be new and original. Naming a horse is a very important job. What is in a name? Everything! The Roadsweeper – named because of the tremendous amount of feather that swept the road as he walked. Tumbler – named because of a Tumble he took in the fields. Submit a list of names and the names will be posted on the website for members to bid on. The winning name will be given to the winning high bidder (GHRA Member) to use in naming their horse.
